When I was in school swimming was part of the PE curriculum too, although we were expected to wear conventional swimwear. The only exception was during the survival swimming parts, and in addition to that, if anyone forgot their swimsuits, they had to go in with their PE uniform instead. I always wondered how many of the people who had “forgotten” did it on purpose.
